There is a wonderful
community of people who share much enthusiasm about the 1964-65 New York World's
Fair. They collect, they publish, they communicate and best of all they share their
knowledge and passions about the fair.
One interesting aspect of World's Fair history
is the legacies
these fairs leave behind. Some pieces of the fair have ended up all over the
country. Others remain at or near the same spot they started. Many have been
identified.
Here are
the stories of the two carousels which appeared at the World's Fair at
Carousel Park and the Belgian Village. One is still in operation at Flushing
Meadows Corona Park in Queens NY, the original site of the fair. The other
is at home in Montreal, Canada
